Abstract

The epidemiological situation regarding anthrax in the world remains complex.

In a number of countries, cases of the disease among animals and humans are recorded annually. Anthrax epidemics among animals are widespread, mainly among livestock. People contract anthrax during forced slaughter of infected livestock, processing of their meat, or contact with animals that have died from the disease.
