Abstract

This research focuses on the semantic characteristics of lexemes denoting the sense of hearing in the English language. The study examines how auditory perception is expressed through linguistic units and how these lexemes form part of the semantic field of sensory verbs. It analyzes pairs such as listen–hear, identifying their semantic differences and hierarchical relations within the perceptual system.
